Hello. I say Bocas del Toro because a lot of my dad's retired friends live there.

Plus I am Panamanian. :)

If you want a place near a beach, Bocas del Toro is supposed to be beautiful. A lot of resorts are moving in so if you want to buy property get a move on. San Blas is owned by the Kuna but can a make a great spot for vacation. I also liked some of the spots in the highlands close to David like Boquete. And Panama is small so even if you live in the middle of the country it shouldn't take too long to get to any beach, especially if you have your own car.

The old Canal Zone area.Balboa and Ancon are close to Amador beach. This would probably more convenient for you because everything you need is close by.While those country areas are nice to visit, the mosquitoes are brutal! Just going back to my hometown(Chorrera),the mosquitoes were bad!
